Tunisia is full of surprises , delights and the most amzing contrasts.

Greater London, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/087/2010 -- There can be more to a Tunisian holiday than simply a beach vacation-you and your family can look forward to exciting festivals as well. There are forty festivals in the country mainly in the summer time. Tunisia organises several international cultural festivals renowned in the world, one such festival is El Djem’s International Festival of Symphonic Music.

El Djem is about 160km south of Tunis and this summer festival attracts classical musicians from all over the world who travel to El Djem to perform at the magnificent Colosseum. Built around the year 200, it was the scene of those games and circuses , often cruel and bloody, provided by ancient Rome. Today it is replaced by the haunting strains of a concerto or the precise beauty of a fugue. With its imposing structure and outstanding acoustics , this is a stunning venue for a festival of classical music. While the symphonic melodies are intoxicating , some visitors come solely for the venue.

The International Festival of Symphony Music El Djem was founded in 1985 ,as a festival with intentions to draw international audience and performers. The festival draws many Tunisian and foreign music lovers. Those who have the opportunity to come to El Djem during the festival months,July- August, let themselves be seduced by the rich combination of architectural splendor and the beauty of music.

Year after year , the festivals has attracted big names from the musical world, clearly as eager to play in such amazing candle-lit surroundings, as spectators are to enjoy them. The colosseum lit with candles, with a balmy summer evening under a magnificent starry sky, creates a romantic ambience. The spectacle is truly amazing, a lifetime memory. It is the multiple attractions that make Tunisia one of the most visited and traveled countries of the world.

Matusadona National Park is a relatively unknown national park in Zimbabwe and because of this it has become one of the best Zimbabwean national parks to visit.

London, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/30/2010 -- The park takes its name from the local “Matuzviadonha Hills” and is a stunning combination of flat plains and rugged mountain country. It boasts a unique combination of pristine and rugged wilderness with the water frontage of Lake Kariba. It is a park comprising some 1400 square kilometers of diverse flora and fauna.

Air Zimbabwe – a Dangerous Airline- Rumors, Hoax or Reality

London, UK -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/09/2010 -- It’s been 5 years that I am in the airline business. Being honest, it does not really matter if Kenyan Airways is selling more than Ethiopian or Air Zimbabwe more than British Airways, at the end of the day it’s a business like any other. What matters for most is the prices, getting cheap flights and saving money. Also, an important factor is the reputation of the airline and your safety concerns.

In this regard, there are some huge “un justifications” done to Air Zimbabwe for a long time, people have associated rumors, ill repute and incidents with the airline that never actually occurred in history! Some “so-called reliable” sources (big names in media) have published stories not even close to reality…after court trials the publishers reportedly apologized from the airline yet; the irony of the situation is that the false news and reports continued to spread (as it’s a more spicy story to tell), starting with “Did Not” missing the “NOT” on their way from ear to ear, turning to “MAY-BE” and ending with “EXACTLY”…leaving the truth far behind.

There are many occasions when I have been asked “is it safe to fly with Air Zimbabwe”? …OR …”I have heard they will be grounded? Will I get my money back?” some times the questions are hilarious yet, the people are really serious asking them such as “Who are the pilots, are they well trained?” of course, one should be concerned about their safety, but why all the “SAFETY” and “SECURITY” questions are always raised about one particular airline? Aren’t we discriminating …? YES, but why? How real are the rumors about Air Zimbabwe?

Firstly, let’s take “The Chicago tribune”, published in June 1999, by a respectable American newspaper in the travel section, under the headline &aposChoppy Skies: A White knuckle Flight on Air Zimbabwe.&apos As the headline, the story is interesting, fearsome and hilarious at the same time. No doubt it got popular in seconds. Here is the summary: “The freelance reporter Gaby Plattner claimed that she had flown on Air Zimbabwe from Kariba to Hwange and flight departed without a co-pilot, who failed to arrive for unexplained reasons. She also claimed that during the flight the pilot went to the toilets holding cockpit the door open with a rubber band. She claims they encountered turbulence and the rubber band snapped loose and the cockpit door swung shut locking out the pilot. She claimed that the pilot had to use an axe to chop down the door down! “

	REALITY OR FABRICATION? ANSWER IS FABRICATION
It turned out the entire story was pure fabrication based on a decades old “urban legend”. For about two months the Chicago Tribune refused to publish a retraction, supporting their report until they were presented with a printed copy of an older version of the urban legend. The reporter finally admitted nothing like that has happened on Air Zimbabwe flight and the story was told to her by a fellow traveler. Both Gaby Plattner (reporter) and The Chicago tribune wrote letters apologizing to Air Zimbabwe and published a retraction.

Secondly on the list is the CNN story claiming that Air Zimbabwe had a 12 in 100 chance of being involved in a fatal accident, thus, characterizing is as “the most dangerous carrier in the world”.

	CALCULATION OR MISCALCULATION? ANSWER IS MISCALCULATIONS
To the contrary, statistics actually show that Air Zimbabwe is one of the safest airlines in the world. Since the end of the 1970s guerilla war for Zimbabwe&aposs liberation, Air Zimbabwe has never had a fatal accident in its entire history.

To this day, numerous web sites including the American military continue to quote the original Chicago Tribune story as if it was true and the CNN calculations are often referred. There is still very little told or published about the facts as they are and not the fabrications. Very recently, two of the top 5 star alliance airlines had flight cancellations, strikes and unwarned rescheduling! The point is, generalizing without bothering to separate the fabrications from the facts, is not only causing some cost effective airlines to loose business but also customers are paying more on expensive flights. Also, Air Zimbabwe offers the cheapest flights to Harare and flies from 17 destinations in the world that means a great deal to Zimbabweans.
The Forbidden City Beijing

London, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/02/2010 -- While standing at the stony floor of the marvelous Forbidden Palace, it is very inspiring to recall that once these stones, these walls; these marble tiled white courtyards, these tall yellow roofs, remained hidden from the eyes of the non-royal, the commons, for hundreds of years. It is both mesmerizing and strange feeling to think of the untold stories the palace has absorbed in it. The raise and the falls it has seen and the labor, the blood and sweat in its foundations. It is the Forbidden City (Forbidden Palace Museum) of Beijing China, a mystifying wonder.

Situated at the center of Beijing, north of Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City was the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Today, since the Place has been opened for the public, it is known as the Palace Museum, called “Gu Gong” in Chinese. It provides an incomparable experience of visiting the Royal residence, once a mystery, today a museum. Until 1924 when the last emperor of China was driven from the Inner Court, fourteen emperors of the Ming dynasty and ten emperors of the Qing dynasty had reigned here. Having been the imperial palace for some five centuries, it houses numerous rare treasures and curiosities. Listed by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage Site in 1987, the Palace Museum is now one of the most popular tourist attractions world-wide. The Place exhibits a one of its kind collection of clocks, as the emperor was very fond of them and the royal watch maker left no stone unturned in making some of the state of the art models of watches still a marvel of simplest technology. The Palace had been a quest, a target a goal, a greed for many. During the World War, the treasure of the Palace however was secured by carefully listing it, dividing it in parts and scattering it in the far away cities of China.

The Forbidden city or Palace, is actually a group of residences. Rectangular in shape, it is the world&aposs largest palace complex and covers 74 hectares. The palace is surrounded by a six meter deep moat and a ten meter high wall are 9,999 rooms. The wall has a gate on each side. Opposite the Tiananmen Gate, to the north is the Gate of Divine Might (Shenwumen), which faces Jingshan Park. The distance between these two gates is 960 meters, while the distance between the gates in the east and west walls is 750 meters. It needs a whole day and comfortable foot wear with a bottle of water and a camera, to take a walk through the palace and get amazed by the splendor of the Royals. There are unique and delicately structured towers on each of the four corners of the curtain wall. These afford views over both the palace and the city outside. As yellow is the symbol of the royal family in China, it is the dominant color in the Forbidden City. All roofs are built with yellow glazed tiles; decorations in the palace are painted yellow mostly golden with Gold fillings and thin files collected from throughout the continent, even the bricks on the ground are made yellow by a special process. Except for the Wenyuange, the royal library, that has a black roof. The reason is that it was believed black represented water then and could extinguish fire.

By dint of its superb design, unique pattern and splendid painted decoration on these royal architectural wonders, the grand and deluxe halls, with their surprisingly magnificent treasures, The Forbidden City is treat to watch.

Also Beijing is not an expensive destination. Daily flights to Beijing are available with British airways and air China at cheap prices. For more details on cheap flights to Beijing visit Travelhouseuk.co.uk.

Sydney Opera – The Wonder of Architecture

London, UK -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/02/2010 -- Sydney Opera is identity of the 21st century Australia; the new, modern, advanced, cosmopolitan continent, as we know it today. No Doubt, it is a marvelous architecture that is no less than a “wonder of the word”. The hustling and bustling metropolis Sydney seems uncompleted without it. It is the Opera that brought the city in lime light through out the world. This summer, visit Sydney and get amazed by the “one of its kind” Opera House.

Tourism in Australia is increasing in leaps and bonds. Every day, there are more and more flights to Australia with almost all top airlines of the world. Not just that but there are a number of indirect flights to Sydney too, that involve connections via other countries and if you have a visa for them, you can double the fun of your holiday by stopping for a couple of nights. But, on the other hand, who can wait to see the glittering, gorgeous Sydney for this long! For details on flights to Sydney visit Travelhouseuk.co.uk.

The amazing Sydney Opera House is built with the purpose to act as a multi-venue performing arts centre. Located on the Bennelong Point in Sydney, New South Wales; the prefect location in the heart of the city while rimming along the bank, makes it an a living form of art itself. A great urban sculpture set in a remarkable waterscape, at the tip of a peninsula projecting into Sydney Harbor, the building has had an enduring influence on architecture.

Sydney Opera house was designed by a young architect from Denmark Mr. Jørn Utzon. Utzon, was a master, a genius of late modern architecture. He understood and recognized the potential provided by the site against the stunning backdrop of Sydney Harbor, a perfect stretch of land for a perfect modern world masterpiece. John Utzon bestowed Australia with a challenging, graceful piece of urban sculpture in patterned tiles, glistening in the sunlight and invitingly aglow at night, the one of its kind Sydney Opera House. The Sydney Opera House comprises three groups of interlocking vaulted ‘shells’ which roof two main performance halls and a restaurant. These shell-structures are set upon a vast platform and are surrounded by terrace areas that function as pedestrian concourses.

Started in 1957 and Inaugurated in 1973, Sydney Opera House has earned a reputation as a world-class performing arts centre and become a symbol of both Sydney and the Australian nation, in a very short time. It is equally admired internationally and proudly treasured by the people of Australia.

The Sydney Opera House is a great architectural work of the 20th century that brings together multiple strands of creativity and innovation in both architectural form and structural design. In 1957, a radically new approach to construction was marked when the project of the Sydney Opera House was awarded by an international jury to Danish architect Jørn Utzon. The genius died in Copenhagen in November 2008 at the aged 90 but his masterpiece has kept him alive for decades and decades to come.

In 2003, John Utzon received the Pritzker Prize, architecture&aposs highest honor. The citation stated:

“There is no doubt that the Sydney Opera House is his masterpiece. It is one of the great iconic buildings of the 20th century, an image of great beauty that has become known throughout the world – a symbol for not only a city, but a whole country and continent. ”

Sydney Opera House was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site on 28 June 2007.

The Famous Big Five of South Africa

London, UK -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/02/2010 -- South Africa is a colorful, vibrant and thrilling country. There is a lot to see and do here. Whether it is the scenic beaches, the raving mountains or the exquisite wildlife, South Africaholds a record of highest tourism ratio for centuries. Daily, numberless carriers fly to the African continent, including top 5 star alliance airlines to the nascent 2 or 3 star airlines offering all kinds of fares and price ranges that can fit any budget. However, after recession imposed fall on tourism activity in the region, the market of cheap fares has gained momentum. Cheap flights to South Africa, SALE on airfares, promotional offers on flights or cheap tickets to South Africa have left behind worries of which you are flying with, but what you are offered! Yet, there are some top airlines like the British Airways, Qatar, South African Airways and Etihad offering cheap flights to South Africa with good standards and affordability combined.

Where tourism has substantially enhanced the economy of this travel capital of the world, there at the same time it has posed grave threat to the wild life of South Africa. The country has a vast yet; painful history of large scale hunting, where animals were killed and their skins and tusks were taken as souvenirs or trading goods. It’s not a long time that the use of animal made good / garments is discouraged in the West, only a few decades ago the fashion was supposed to be incomplete without fur and jewelry, with out the ivory.

The large scale massive hunting and expansion of human colonies into the centuries old forests narrowed down all the possibilities of life and shelter for animals. The top endangered species of South Africa were termed as the Big Five. They were also the top hunted animals. Some for leather, tusk or some just for the sake of hunting down a fierce carnivore, who was only fierce because of the unwarned human activates and expansions of colonies to his home.

Originally, the term &aposBig Five&apos was used by Hunters. It refers to five of Africa&aposs greatest wild animals - lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino. The term "Big Five" invokes a thrill, romance and excitement of Africa&aposs exotic destinations and experiences. The existence of these animals and the efforts laid out to date, in saving their land are all remarkable.

Today, line the Sydney Opera House for Australia, or Taj Mahal for India, the ‘Big five’ have become identity of South Africa. South Africa is magical, with the golden sunsets over the wide horizons, the pride of lions stalking their preys, buffaloes strolling to water hole, elephants playing and caressing each other with their spouts, leopards with their fancy gate and rhino which are almost extinct, with their extraordinary horns and bad temper.

The Big Five are considered as the legends of the wilds; a trip to South Africa is incomplete without spotting and getting them photographed.

Exploring Queensland – the Simpson Desert

London, UK -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/28/2010 -- Australia is not a country but a continent full of inspiring adventures, exquisite landscape, marvelous beaches, tropical rainforests, enigmatic waterfalls and magnificent deserts. If you want to experience the tropics of Thailand or the heat of Dubai desert safari, Australia is one complete package to get it all in one place.

Among the deserts of Australia, The Simpson Dessert offers not only a thrilling experience of camping, bonfire, safaris and dessert information but also it is not a very far away destination and has easy air access available via Adelaide. For Adelaide, you can find a number of cheap flights offered by almost all top airlines operating from UK. Details and lists of cheap flights to Adelaide Australia from UK are available at http://www.travelhouseuk.co.uk/flights/australia_newzealand/australia.htm

The Desert is named after Alfred Allen Simpson, an Australian philanthropist, geographer, and president of the Royal Geographical Society of South Australia. The Simpson Desert occupies approximately 176 500 square kilometers of central Australia offering a challenging experience to heat up your winter holidays. Camping is a popular activity in the dessert and permits are available from National Parks Offices in Queensland.

The Simpson Desert is an erg which contains the world&aposs longest parallel sand dunes. These north-south oriented dunes are static, held in position by vegetation. They vary in height from 3 meters in the west to around 30 meters on the eastern side of the dessert. The most famous dune is the 40 meters high the Nappanerica, also called the Big Red that named by Simpson Desert traveler Mr. Dennis Bartell. Apart from marveling at the Big Red, you can make you trip exciting by Campfires however, use wood conservatively. Abstain form using standing dead trees as they could be nesting sites for birds and when collecting ground wood, leave pieces with hollows or cracks as they&aposre probably home to lizards, small mammals and insects. Also be watchful for the desert snakes.

While in the dessert, it is not an obligation though, but it is good not to burn plastic or synthetic material. Also observe the fire bans by the Environment management usually from 01 November to 15 April. Also, if you have not hired a guide and driving yourself, be careful to drive on unsealed roads in the outback. Also, no matter the place is barren but it is emphasized to keep it clean. So don’t bury any rubbish, rather, place in plastic bags and carry out for disposal at Birdsville or Dalhousie. Also, Dogs and Cats are not allowed in Queensland National Parks including the Simpson Desert Park

Camping is recommended safe to be anywhere within 100 m of public access tracks. However, this area can be very exposed to wind and sun. According to the masters of the trait, good camping places are near salt lakes in the central desert and in the Gidgee woodlands for shade, shelter and soft ground. During camping, keep enough fuel with you for generators. At Poeppel Corner and within 500m of campers, it is required to switch off the generators between 10 pm and 7 am.

If you are not in a camping mood, than you can take a scenic flight from the William Creek to catch the awe-inspiring view of the Simpson Desert from the above.

Durban, South Africa’s busiest Harbor, an array of tremendous beautiful locations around Natal Bay, and a modern yet, close to nature city that has something for every one.

London, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/25/2010 -- The three cities that contribute with their entertaining, wondrous and state of the art holiday experiences and make South Africa…what it is …..the Travel Capital of the World include Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.
Darwin Australia ‘the Multicultural Icon of National Significance

The revolutionary explorer Charles Darwin, the evolutionist and acclaimed scientist of all time, sailed on several expeditions on the HMS Bridge.

London, UK -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/19/2010 -- It was in 1839, (though Darwin himself was not on board), when the captain of the Beagle sighted the splendid harbor in the Northern Territory of Australia and decided to name the port after Darwin.

Form that day on, the city of Darwin has developed in leaps and bonds and evolved as a unique amalgamation of modern conurbation and “one of its kind” wilderness of the outback. The Darwin of today is a transformation from a pioneer outpost and small port into one of Australia&aposs most modern and multicultural cities, the celebrated capital city of the Northern Territory of Australia.

Darwin is famed for being the “Multicultural Icon of National Significance”, people from more than 50 nations make up its population of 120,652, making it by far the largest and most populated city in the meagerly populated Northern Territory. Yet, in comparison to the rest, Darwin is the least populous of all Australia&aposs capital cities. It is perfectly situated on the Timor Sea, most northerly of the Australian capital cities, and also acts as the regional centre for top end. The laid back life style of Darwin in itself makes it an altogether different and new experience of Australia. An interesting saying about this harmonious wilderness:
