Calling You Daily: Inspiration Is Just a Phone Call Away

Dallas, TX -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/14/2010 -- You’re amazing, and you deserve to hear someone say it. Just ask Robert Furber and Brad Wiley.

Furber and Wiley’s firm, TecPorting, Inc., launched Calling You Daily (http://www.CallingYouDaily.com) September 13, a highly-anticipated service that allows users to order live motivational telephone calls for themselves or others. The half-minute calls range from positive affirmations to birthday wishes – and everything in between.

“Calling You Daily provides personal encouragement and motivation through uplifting phone calls delivered at users’ requests,” says Furber. “These calls go well beyond reassurance and daily self-confidence boosts. We do personal reminders, spiritual messages and famous quotes.”

People often underestimate the value of affirmations and the use of humorous messages like those provided by Calling You Daily.

“Positive affirmations are among the most valuable tools we as humans can use to influence the lives of others. A positive affirmation possesses the power to lift a person’s spirits and increase enjoyment for the day,” says Michigan-based counselor Lisa Murphy. “These trigger our ‘feel good’ endorphins – just as exercise does.”

Murphy also indicates that a little kindness goes a long way. “When you do something positive for another person, they are positive toward the people they meet throughout the day.”

Calling You Daily’s services work to boost optimism and self-esteem. According to Dr. Jonathan Haidt, professor of social psychology at the University of Virginia, the emotions evoked by kindness are unlike any other emotions we feel. Receiving a kindness – like an encouraging or touching phone call – can influence the way people feel about themselves.

“These emotions give people a sense of uplift and inspiration,” says Haidt. “They make us feel like better people.”

Furber explains that everyone needs to hear something positive – and those with a solid sense of humor might appreciate a quick jab delivered by a Calling You Daily agent.

“Eight year-old Rebekah’s first recital? 19 year-old Tim is heading off to college? Grandma just turned 80? We’ll call them,” says Furber. “We even have a Phone Pest service so users can give family and friends a hard time and keep them grinning.”

Calling You Daily’s Phone Pest option is carefully monitored to ensure all calls are entertaining – not harassing. Supervisors check all call messages before calls are placed; profanity, inflammatory speech, glamorization of illegal substances or activities and exploitation of minors won’t make it through their screening process.

Once a call or package has been purchased, users are prompted to select from a host of categories – including motivational, romantic and get well – and are later given the option to add details on the content of the call. If they choose, users can personalize any message through the service by requesting call agents use nicknames, mention ‘inside’ jokes or deliver a specific message.

A live person makes the call at the requested time – and if no one answers, they redial within two hours. As a last resort, Calling You Daily agents leave a voicemail to ensure the message is received.

“Calling You Daily has something for everyone,” says Furber, “whether there’s a special occasion or you just want to improve someone’s mood. These calls make really unique gifts; who else is going to give the gift of uplifting phone calls every day?”

TecPorting donates10% of every Calling You Daily purchase to Blood:Water Mission, a non-profit organization empowering African communities through education.

Adam Temporary Services' WBE and SBE Certifications Unlock NY/NJ Job Opportunities

New York, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/01/2010 -- Adam Temporary Services, Inc. received Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) and Small Business Enterprise (SBE) certifications from the Port Authority August 10, potentially creating more jobs for unemployed residents of New York and New Jersey.

According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, July unemployment rates in NYC were holding at 9.4 percent.

“Adam Temps’ WBE and SBE certifications really open doors for our candidates,” said Catherine Palmiere, career coach and owner of Adam Temporary Services.

“Businesses who need temporary employees can find us through the Port Authority and other government outlets because of these certifications – and they know they can get quality employees through us because we’ve been providing these services for years.”

Adam Temporary Services fills short- and long-term job openings for New York and New Jersey companies that don’t have time or resources available to find eligible candidates. As a HUBZone-certified business, Adam Temporary Services also provides jobs to residents of underprivileged areas.

According to the Port Authority, SBE certification helps small businesses compete with other firms – and that’s valuable to Adam Temporary Services’ candidates because there are more employment opportunities in a highly competitive job market.

“The number of positions opening up because of Adam Temporary Services’ WBE and SBE certifications may increase exponentially," says Palmiere. “Our goal is to work with the 9.4 percent of New Yorkers who are unemployed and help them get back on their feet.”

WBE and SBE certifications allow Adam Temporary Services to move forward while other staffing firms are struggling to find job openings and qualified candidates to fill them.

The Federal government aims to award at least 5% of their contracts to WBE- and SBE-certified businesses, according to the National Women’s Business Council.

NY and NJ employers come to Adam Temps in search of skilled candidates when they don’t have the time or resources to conduct an intensive search; candidates are prequalified and evaluated by Adam Temps’ expert staff to ensure a seamless transition. In some cases, candidates temporarily employed through Adam Temps receive full-time, permanent job offers.

“This is an exciting time for Adam Temporary Services,” says Palmiere. “We’re actively seeking government contracts and candidates to fill the positions as they become available. We have a constantly rotating pool of candidates being placed in temporary positions. Adam Temps works with some of the best employers in New York and New Jersey who come back to us time and again because they know our candidates are ready to work and that we can fill positions quickly with skilled, capable employees.”

Employers and job seekers are encouraged to call Adam Temporary Services at (212)557-9150 or visit AdamTemps.com to learn about upcoming opportunities and find temporary employment.

Palmiere also teaches at Grace Institute, a community-based center offering free job skill classes to underserved women. She also authored the book Unlocking the Door to Your Career to provide job searchers with basic – yet often overlooked – principles of successful job hunting and continued employment.

Staffing Firm Offers Advantages to New Jersey Companies

Adam Personnel and Adam Temps have been providing quality candidates to employers for over thirty years. Both are certified Woman-Owned Businesses and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises licensed to operate in New York and New Jersey.

New York, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/22/2010 -- Adam Personnel, Inc. and Adam Temporary Services, Inc. obtained licensure to operate in New Jersey April 16, creating unprecedented opportunities for Garden State employers to fill temporary and permanent positions with well-qualified employees.

While Adam Personnel and Adam Temporary Services have been successfully matching companies with competent, skilled staff members in New York City for over 30 years, their expansion into New Jersey comes at an optimal time for employers. With more job seekers on the prowl than ever, businesses can rely on Adam as a filter to provide them with a tailored list of quality-screened applicants – ensuring jobs are filled quickly and new hires are seamlessly integrated into company operations.

“We can save a company time and money by putting talented candidates in touch with actively hiring managers,” says Catherine Palmiere, president of Adam Personnel. “We can service their temporary, temp-to-perm and permanent hiring needs.”

Both companies are certified Woman-Owned Businesses, and Adam Temps has also been recognized by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority as Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE). These certifications are advantageous to both job seekers and employers.

New Jersey businesses stand to gain leverage over their competitors by hiring dedicated professionals through Adam’s services. All applicants are pre-screened to ensure they meet employers’ standards, and Adam maintains a large pool of job seekers to ensure employers are getting the perfect match. Companies struggling to find the right employees in hard-to-fill positions can especially benefit from Adam’s services.

“Adam Personnel doesn’t just send us applicants that are right for the position, but right for our company too,” says one testimonial on AdamPersonnel.com; another extols Adam’s ability to screen applicants, saying, “They do triage so HR can do what they do best – personnel evaluation and development.”

Over a span of three decades, Adam has successfully placed thousands of candidates in temporary and permanent positions, saving employers from expensive hiring campaigns and arduous pre-screening interviews. Adam’s dedicated professionals navigate the intricacies of the hiring process so employers are free to pursue other interests – like growth and fiscal expansion.

Small and medium-sized businesses, especially those without Human Resources departments, profit by using Adam’s services and eliminating guesswork from the hiring process. These companies can save thousands of dollars a year in management training and save valuable time that would otherwise be spent on screening and interviewing potential candidates.

Large, fiscally responsible corporations turn to Adam for the same reasons – and end up gaining advantage over their business rivals because they’re able to stay fully staffed and operational. With 50 years of combined staffing experience, Adam’s professionals know precisely what to look for in resumes and how to extract the answers they need from job seekers, ensuring there are no gaps in a company’s productivity.

“While many firms restrict themselves to a single sector, Adam Personnel and Adam Temporary Services are familiar with a variety of industries, and place applicants in both permanent and temporary positions,” says Palmiere. Since the companies serve nearly every industry imaginable – from accounting to web design – almost any New Jersey business can reap the benefits.

Both companies proudly follow what they call the “Adam Core Values” to ensure clients’ satisfaction. The values include being “action-oriented; determined to satisfy our clients; always listening; and making a difference since 1979,” and with their track record of proven results, those are words to live by.

ChefShauniece.com Unveils Video Blog

Chef Shauniece Frazier unveiled a video blog to add to the substantial content of her site, www.ChefShauniece.com, to teach children all over the world how to get comfortable in the kitchen April 9.

Los Angeles, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/12/2010 -- Shauniece Frazier is a whiz in the kitchen – gourmet omelets and Lomo Soltado are all in a day’s work for her. She routinely blogs about new and exotic dishes, shares fun snippets from the kitchen and even offers a recipe for a happy, healthy life at http://ChefShauniece.com. April 9, she began incorporating easy-to-follow videos in her blog and on YouTube to encourage her peers to follow in her footsteps.

Frazier has been diligently honing her culinary skills for nearly five years. It all started when her mother, Claudia Woods, was in a near-fatal car accident. Without the use of her legs and arms, Woods was unable to navigate between the stove and pantries – so her daughter took over in the kitchen with the aid of a child-safe electric skillet.

It had to be child-safe; Frazier was only nine years old at the time.

Since then, she’s been cooking up a storm. At fourteen, Frazier is sharing her experiences with kids and teens all over the globe through her blog.

“I blog because I really got into cooking and decided I wanted to share my passion with everybody else,” said Frazier. “I really want to encourage kids to cook.”

Watching a peer whip up delectable edibles at ChefShauniece.com, kids can easily grasp the fundamentals of cooking and learn their way around the kitchen, developing self-esteem and independence in the process.

“I found that people learn more when I do something visual, and I wanted to make videos that kids could watch; if they don’t want to read my blog, they can still learn by watching me,” said Frazier.

In one video, she simplifies a healthy dessert of chocolate-covered strawberries; in another, she teaches kids how to prepare a cucumber and red onion salad.

Woods encourages her daughter’s culinary prowess. The two make frequent trips to Surfas to add to their growing collection of kitchen gadgetry. According to Frazier, Surfas is “a cook’s dream store.”

Health-conscious and succinct, Frazier’s blog includes comprehensive recipes, introductions to sophisticated French cooking terms and photos (which she takes herself) so other young, aspiring chefs can visualize exactly what their end product should resemble.

While she spends quite a bit of time blogging, teaching kids across the globe isn’t her only goal; Frazier’s dream is to attend Le Cordon Bleu, a culinary academy located in the heart of Paris. She aspires to be an executive chef and continue spreading her passion for cuisine, hoping someday to host her own television show.

In the meantime, Frazier heads straight to the kitchen after she’s done with her daily homework. “My brother and his friends come over at dinner time because they know I’m cooking,” she said. “They’ll say, ‘Are you cooking tonight, or should we go get you something to make?’”

Frazier started cooking scrambled eggs and grilled cheese when she was just nine; three years later she prepared the main course of a Thanksgiving dinner for a 30-member family. Now her repertoire includes everything from appetizers to desserts, and she even highlights money-saving tips on ChefShauniece.com.

“Cooking is a lost art,” said Frazier, “but it doesn’t have to be. Kids can start learning to cook and eat healthy now.”
