LoPresti to Debut Their Latest Innovation at AOPA Convention 2011 the "NeverFlat" Lifesaver Tire

See us at AOPA Booth 821

Sebastian, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/20/2011 -- "When I speak of our technologies" said CEO Rj Siegel, "I usually say, what we do is not rocket science". Just good solid engineering, but held to a higher standard. This is the exception, It IS rocket science. Specifically, the technology comes from the US Space program and in particular the Lunar Rover.

The challenge in that program was to create an infallible tire, which could survive the harsh environment of the Lunar surface. The tire worked flawlessly (As well as the Rover) and the rest is history.

LoPresti has been developing this very technology to meet needs of the General Aviation market. However, it’s only recently that innovations in graphite material science have made this product possible. We call it the NeverFlat™ because it&aposs just about impossible to puncture this tire and even if you could it still wouldn&apost go flat.

The first tire in this series was introduced at the yearly Cirrus owners gathering in August. It is designed to exceed the performance characteristics required for the Cirrus SR20 and SR22, Siegel said. “Using this new proprietary technology we&aposve seen improved tire performance in all measurable areas. Wear, traction and rolling resistance,” Siegel said. The tire is being offered with a 10-year warranty against a flat.

LoPresti has partnered with “Scheme Designers” Booth 821, at the AOPA Summit, where the new tire will be on display.

LoPresti Acquires Tri-Nav Charts

(the aviators' guide for easily navigating the airspace system)

Sebastian, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/26/2011 -- LoPresti Aviation has acquired the rights to Howie Keefe&aposs TRI-NAV CHART® print and digital products (the aviators&apos guide for easily navigating the airspace system).

The products include:
1. Tri-Nav&aposs unique aviation charts that can be used for both legal IFR and VFR flight,
2. Free Internet update service on the FAA&aposs 28-day cycle,
3. The "Shirt Pocket" series of AvData books,
4. An atlas of WAC Charts in a 20 sm = 1" scale.

RJ Siegel, CEO of LoPresti Aviation and a developer of Apple products, stated "LoPresti can now expand their reach from helping pilots make their planes go faster to offering them digital apps for their cockpit navigation, with print products for back-ups and land-based planning. We are delighted to be working with Howie on his exciting new products." This chart system will give the pilot, at a glance, a comprehensive situation awareness. Howie&aposs ability to develop pilot friendly tools that meet the needs for cockpit versatility, has been proven repeatedly.

As Siegel put it, "Tri-Nav marries perfectly with LoPresti&aposs motto of pilot efficiency. Our next development project is to support the bound Atlas with an iPad implementation. The central problem with an iPad," continued Siegel, "is that the screen is too small. The tabloid size of the Atlas lends itself to maximum readability and ease of use. However, if the Atlas ever catches fire, I guess you could always turn to the iPad," Siegel said smiling.

Tri-Nav Chart will be available May 1, 2011 by contacting LoPresti Aviation directly.

LoPresti to Debut a Host of New Performance Products at Sun N Fun

LoPresti booths 32 and 43 at SunNFun 2011

Sebastian, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/25/2011 -- "We&aposve been very buttoned up this winter," said LoPresti Aviation CEO Rj Siegel, "quietly working on new technologies for CIRRUS and CESSNA. Now it&aposs time to open up and showcase what we&aposve done."

Rj Siegel&aposs product push actually comes from the customer. He continually polls them for their input. "We have six new performance products for Cirrus owners and a dynamite new cowl for Cardinal owners. All these products will be on display in the LoPresti Sun N Fun booth (32, 43) for further customer comments.

LoPresti is never 100% satisfied with anything they make. Their "culture" is one of constant improvement. "In that regard, we&aposve redesigned our best selling Cirrus "IceSkatesTM” for even more speed, better brake cooling, and an enlarged access door. It&aposs already the number one sought after accessory by Cirrus owners," said Siegel. "But we couldn&apost leave it alone. For us, performance is a moving target. Get better or get left behind. We don&apost ever intend to be left behind," Siegel said, smiling.

Other new designs include their TriTips for Cirrus SR20’s, drag reduction flap hinge covers, reworked factory wheelpants (named “CoolSkates™”), and a production cowl for the DeltaHawk Diesel/Cirrus. Cardinal owners have had a strong hand in the design of a new Cardinal Cowl and Cessna lighting system “nicknamed” Dolly Parton, that will debut at the show. Visit the LoPresti booths 32 and 43 at SunNFun 2011.

LoPresti Aviation Welcomes Remos National Sales Center in Sebastian, Florida

Sebastian, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/03/2010 -- Remos Aircraft will be operating their new sales, distribution and service center from the LoPresti facility located at the Sebastian Airport. Their sales and marketing, directed by Earle Boyter, has set up offices in the administration building with LoPresti Aviation.

The German based LSA (light sport aircraft) manufacturer has chosen it&aposs new location because of its proximity to several key factors: Florida&aposs growing market for its new aircraft and access to the LoPresti engineering team which offers total maintenance support for this recreational aircraft.

Rj Siegel, CEO of LoPresti Aviation and Apple computer alumni, remarked that. "We are very strong supporters of the recreational component of the LSA market. When we jumped in four years ago, most of GA was dismissive of this market, much the way computer manufacturers at the time were dismissive of smart phones. "Low margins, small market", they said. Apple&aposs iPhone changed that thinking. We believe the LSA market is equally a sleeping giant and we have focused our engineering expertise to support it. We feel privileged that Remos is like-minded and selected LoPresti as their partner in this venture."

Earle Boyter, director of sales/marketing for Remos, added "When you combine the excellent reputation that LoPresti Aviation has for service, along with their Rotax qualified technicians and one of the best composite shops in the world.... you have a perfect match. The affiliation with LoPresti Aviation is a natural fit for REMOS. "

REMOS Aircraft is the world’s leading manufacturer of Light Sport Aircraft. Founded in 1994, REMOS is an international aerospace manufacturing company with operations in Europe and North America. REMOS’ flagship product, the REMOS GX aircraft, is an all-composite, single engine, recreational aircraft certified by the FAA and EASA. Manufactured in a state-of-the-art facility in Pasewalk, Germany, REMOS aircraft are distributed and supported world-wide through a network of exclusive sales, maintenance and flight training programs.
Roy LoPresti Innovation in Aviation Award Goes To Virtual Hud

The LoPresti Award ceremony was held on the opening day at Airventure 2010

Oshkosh, WI -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/29/2010 -- A Virtual HUD (Heads Up Display) developed by Bill Steele was awarded the Roy LoPresti Innovation in Aviation Award on opening day of AirVenture.

The low-cost HUD projects critical information on an aircraft’s propeller, putting the images “right in front of the pilot’s eyes,” said Steele, who also has developed the Wingman, a portable display that is a complete EFIS.

Steele (left) explained he had a “Eureka” moment while playing with a laser pointer at his father’s house during a Thanksgiving visit. When he shone the laser on the ceiling fan, he realized that he could use his airplane’s propeller to project information. It took him 18 months of “trial and error” to develop the HUD, which features full-color displays.

Virtual HUD is the third winner of the LoPresti award, which was designed by the late Roy LoPresti. Previous winners include DeltaHawk’s diesel engine and Bede Corp’s retractable wheel pants. Winners must meet three criteria, according to Rj Siegel, LoPresti CEO (pictured right): It must be innovative; it must be practical; and it must offer a user experience is that “seamless.”

“Bill Steele’s Virtual HUD passes all these tests with flying colors,” Siegel said.

LoPresti Releases An Upgrade For It's Hawker Fleet of BoomBeam HID Kits

Sebastian, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/27/2010 -- LoPresti Aviation has done it again. LoPresti now has an X2 upgrade kit available for Hawker aircraft that have previously installed BoomBeam HID. According to David LoPresti, Marketing Director, "The original BoomBeam kit improved lighting for the Hawker so much that we are on the majority of the fleet. With the release of the X2 Kit we have really upped the ante. The original BoomBeam was a quantum leap in output, now the X2 is 50% brighter than the original."

Customer feedback is always the best source for proof or disproof your product&aposs acceptance. At LoPresti Aviation, engineers set out to increase exterior lighting on the Hawker 800 series. Judging from the customer feedback, the product continues to exceeded all expectations.

Mark Jones, Director of Maintenance for Cozzens and Cudahy Air, found out first-hand how impressive the LoPresti X2 BoomBeam Lighting upgrade is for the Hawker 800s.
"I have to say this about the LoPresti BoomBeam HID light system for the HS125: They work great. Our Company was one of the first to try the original and now with the X2 System, all that needs to be said is WOW. Both sides were installed in one day. The output of the lights is at least 50% brighter than the original BoomBeam kit and that kit was a giant improvement over the standard factory light."

"The units have all the harness made up and the instructions are easily followed for the installation process. This product produces no heat. So, in the past years we have never had to replace a lens due to heat issues. This was a common occurrence with the original factory lights on the Hawker. The BoomBeam lights are reliable and we have not had a failure since the original installation."

"Since I am a Crew Member and Technician, I see the BoomBeam Mod from both sides. They succeed in all areas: Reliability, Maintainability and (most of all) Cost Effectiveness. Each time a light is replaced the Wing Lens must be removed and resealed - this is downtime and the BoomBeams have eliminated this issue," reported Mark.

Mark Jones is the Director of Maintenance on the Hawker 800XP operated by Cozzens and Cudahy Air, working on this type of aircraft for 20+years. He also crews the same aircraft, operated worldwide. A member of the National Business Aircraft Association Hawker Technical Committee, he has earned the Master Technician on the Hawker 800XP and the Master Technician with the Management Endorsement from Flight Safety. Mark also holds a Current Flight Safety Pro Card as Pilot in Command on the Hawker 800XP, with 5000 hours operational experience as a pilot on the Hawker Series Aircraft.

CEO of LoPresti Aviation to Speak in Dayton, Ohio

Dayton, OH -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/14/2010 -- "Rj Siegel, CEO of LoPresti Aviation, will address the Grumman 2010 Convention (AYA) in Dayton, Ohio July 13, 2010"

Some aircraft have such character as to defy their age and era. The Piper Cub, the DC3 and the Grumman Tiger all fit that description. We want to fly them, own them, care for them. It&aposs interesting to note they all have pedestrian origins. The Tiger especially. It&aposs grandfather, the Grumman Traveler, was a four place box, which despite it&aposs sliding canopy was somehow very un-sexy.

The difference between a iPhone and "other" smart phones is surprisingly small. Apple does not have access to better electrons or higher quality transistors. Rather, it&aposs hundreds of small improvements that add up to an extraordinary product. And so it is with the Tiger. LoPresti took the design and touched it everywhere. Roy LoPresti gave the Tiger incremental improvements which completely changed its character.

There is an old saying that, at some point in the engineering cycle you need to kill the engineer and take the product to market. Grumman took the Tiger to market but left 17 knots on the table. Rj Siegel will tell the story and explain where the speed is and what LoPresti engineers are doing to get it back.

LoPresti is known though-out the aviation industry for it&aposs remarkable ability to add elements (through design or enhancements) to improve the efficiency and speed of aircraft.

LoPresti's First "LSA Holiday" Event on June 4, 5, 6 Summer Vacation for Aviators

Benefits Boys and Girls Club of Indian River County

Sebastian, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/20/2010 -- LoPresti Aviation will host the first annual &aposLSA Holiday!&apos June 4-6, 2010. The City of Sebastian is home to this new recreational event that offers three days of aviation and local activities for light sport pilots and the community, alike. "Why LSA (Light Sport Aircraft)?" In a word, FUN! LSA is the new, fast-growing segment of affordable aviation. With as little as 20 hours of instruction, an enthusiast can be granted a pilots license. Even better, at over 135 mph these economical aircraft sip fuel so efficiently, that they are comparable to an economy car. It&aposs all about getting away and enjoying. Transport yourself to an area of natural beauty that offers the charm of a small fishing village and small, welcoming airport. All of this will kick off in LoPresti&aposs new hangar facility adjacent to the Sebastian Airport Administration Building.

Friday night, the group will gather to hear the colorful Movie/Stunt/Test pilot, J.W. "Corkey" Fornof tell his wild and crazy stories. Saturday, early morning will begin with LSA flour bombing and other fun aviation competitions. Opening the LoPresti First Saturday charity breakfast event, Skydive Sebastian will demonstrate their jumping skills to the beautiful backdrop of the Sebastian skies and the sound of steel drums playing. The speaking segment of the program will give you all the ins and outs of LSA. Some of the LSA manufacturers that will have their aircraft on display include: Piper, Remos, Paradise, Evektor, Jabru and SkyKits. LSA seminars and demos will answer the LSA pilot&aposs, and hopeful pilot&aposs, questions. Nature seminars, fly-fishing demonstration, and even massages will be ready for those wanting to indulge further. Continuing into the afternoon, attendees may choose from: kayaking (night kayaking too), wave running, golfing, surfing, hot air balloon rides, fishing, boat tours, skeet shooting, skydiving, great restaurants, and an awards dinner overlooking the Indian River Lagoon.

The LoPresti event will continue into Sunday for those that stay to relax further. On the last day, coffee and bagels will accompany some great hangar talk and stories.

The &aposLSA Holiday!&apos grew from the desire of LoPresti Aviation, the City of Sebastian, Sebastian Chamber of Commerce, and local businesses to bring recreational aviation to the Sebastian Airport and nearby areas. "When you fly into Sebastian, view the world-known Sebastian Inlet and River, you understand why this is such a special place. This community of gracious people are enthusiastic about aviation. Their involvement and support of this event is going to make this weekend one rockin&apos holiday.", says Curt LoPresti, President of LoPresti Aviation.

LSA at its best. LoPresti at its best. Sebastian at its best.

The well-known LoPresti First Saturday event will benefit The Boys and Girls Club of Indian River. This breakfast was Roy LoPresti&aposs dream and desire, to bring the joy flying and aviation to the younger generation. For more information and registration, call David LoPresti, 772-562-4757

Acadiana Airfest May 1st and 2nd

Sebastian, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/27/2010 -- James Bond&aposs stand-in pilot, J.W. "Corkey" Fornof will be sporting his latest airplane at the Acadiana Airfest on May 1st and 2nd.

http://www.CorkeyFornof.com

At the Acadiana Airfest J.W. "Corkey" Fornof will be flying the LoPrestiFury on May 1st and 2nd. Flying the Fury, he will perform his famous Mustang routine plus the "Peggy&aposs Tango." "The LoPrestiFury flys like a little fighter. It does everything my Mustang would do except 500 kts," says Corkey. "This is one sweet ride. Roy LoPresti was right on when he designed this plane. The Fury is perfect for aerobatics or cross country flying".

If you remember the classic movie scene where James Bond (aka Roger Moore) flys a BD5 jet through a hanger sideways in Octopussy, then you are already familiar with the work of "Corkey" Fornof, talented stunt pilot, aerial coordinator and director. "Corkey" Fornof is the master of aviation movie action.

For the past year, "Corkey" has been touring the country with the LoPresti Fury. "Corkey" is the perfect pilot/ambassador for this winged Ferrari-like sportster. If you&aposre going to show off a fast, sexy, high performance aircraft, it helps to have a secret agent as your pilot. The Fury possesses the thrilling excitement of air combat or an aerobatic WWII fighter. It&aposs precision and perfectionallows smooth rolls and figure 8s. One can glide cross-country in this leather-seated beauty listening to tunes of your choice through the Bluetooth Headset and Intuitiontm Ipod system.

LoPresti Aviation Announces RJ Siegel Is New CEO

Sebastian, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/06/2010 -- In an industry that is slow to change, LoPresti Aviation is heading into the next decade at full throttle. LoPresti has announced that RJ Siegel will be taking the helm as Chief Executive Officer at the new LoPresti offices in Sebastian, Florida. RJ is a passionate pilot, a 40-year EAA member, aircraft homebuilder, educator, engineer and businessman. RJ was a member of the original MacIntosh team at Apple Computer and holds the dubious distinction of designing the first aviation iPod based, black-box system which simultaneously plays music, logs flight data, phones home and toasts bagels (OK, maybe not bagels).

"LoPresti has always been known as a creative engineering company, with great "bones" said Siegel. Founded by the luminary engineer Roy LoPresti and bolstered by the addition of his aviation progeny, Curt, Jim, Roy and David LoPresti, the company serves General Aviation, from Light Sport to larger Jet Manufacturers. "Today, LoPresti is considered the Gold Standard in drag reduction, the science of aircraft efficiency. My intention," said Siegel, "is to bring our expertise to the Commercial and Military markets, kicking it up a notch. If I can add a bit of Apple passion for innovation and &aposinsanely great products&apos we will spark an infectious change for the entire industry".

"In today&aposs business, the essentials of surviving AND thriving are: ability to focus, the knowledge of what you focus on, and the heart to stick with it. Having all this, Rj Siegel, is perfect for LoPresti&aposs new direction," remarked Curt LoPresti, President of LoPresti Aviation. "You can&apost do better then the APPLE model (he originally helped to build). A long-time, close family friend and business counselor, Rj will join us in making LoPresti Aviation a company that excels in engineering design, exceptional aviation products, and extreme customer service."

In the early days of the computer revolution, manufacturers believed they were building amazing products. They were amazing, but their design had almost no regard for the customer. The company line was, &aposJust do it our way&apos, (ie: Learn DOS) and everything will work out fine. "At Apple, our core philosophy was very different," insisted Rj. "Instead of asking the customer to adapt to the product, we thought it would be a neat idea to have the product adapt to the customer. That&aposs the thinking which gave birth to the Mac. It&aposs exactly the thinking LoPresti will be bringing to our customers".

"LoPresti products must be innovative, work beautifully and be aesthetically seductive, " added Rj. "When you walk away, you&aposre compelled to turn back for one more look... that&aposs my measure of success".

Glenn is known as "Dr. Glenn" of Love Doctors fame

Sebastian, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/07/2009 -- First Saturday Fly-in Event will be held Saturday, November 7th at our new facility in Sebastian. LoPresti Aviation will guest host speaker local resident Glenn Curtis. Many of you know him as Doctor Glenn of the Love Doctors radio show. What many may not know is that the Love Doctors Charities is a cornerstone element of the Love Doctors show. The charities have raised well over a million dollars that has been spent on good works in our local community.

The full breakfast buffet begins at 8:15 am with steaming hot cups of coffee and everything from pancakes, eggs, & bacon to fresh fruits and delicious muffins. Breakfast is followed by Glenn’s presentation at 10-11:30 a.m. This month&aposs event will benefit Glenn’s personal charity choice, The Love Doctors Charities. (A $5 donation is requested)

In addition to the annual toy distribution, the charity provides a wide range of community assistance throughout the Treasure Coast. This year the charity has helped a family that lost everything in a fire, offered rent assistance to a single mother, sponsored two high school air force cadets, aided a senior citizen battling cancer giving area teachers school supplies and annually sends several kids to diabetes camp.

Come to First Saturday and hear the great stories and behind the scenes laughter that happens on the Love Doctors show. Glenn has great stories that could not be shared live and if you have never been to a Love Doctors event you are in for a real treat. Woven into this tapestry of joviality will be stories of the stewardship and giving that has made the Love Doctors a force to be reckoned with not just in radio, but in our community at large.

Doctor Glenn got the "bug" for radio in 1976 & 1977 while he was a junior and senior at Vero Beach High School. He took broadcasting classes and spent lunch hour as a d.j. on the school radio station. After high school, he attended broadcasting school in Sarasota, and returned to the Treasure Coast to work at WTTB, WFTP, WSTU and WAVW (Wave Country 92.7) While at WAVW, Glenn met Rich Dickerson and teamed up to form "The Love Doctors". From there the team went to WKGR (The Gater) and on to WZZR, where we have been since 1991. A few years later, we formed Love Doctors Charities to help residents of the Treasure Coast and Palm Beaches.

The Love Doctors Charities has raised more than $1,249,000 and the 2008 annual Xmas toy drive raised $250,000 dollars and provided toys to over 9,000 area children.

This complete kit will give aviation's top performing business jet an increase in safety and a dramatic cost improvement.

Sebastian, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/10/2009 -- LoPresti Aviation announces the FAA STC&aposd approval for BoomBeam™ HID lights on the Citation 560. This complete kit will give aviation&aposs top performing business jet an increase in safety and a dramatic reduction in maintenance costs.

"Every Citation pilot knows that Citation flights are measured in &aposBulbs per Hour&apos, with one of six lights burning out with high-cost frequency." According to Curt LoPresti, CEO of LoPresti Aviation, "Safety is aviation&aposs number one agenda. We know that the addition of BoomBeam HID lights to all aircraft greatly improves their conspicuity and safety. Lights on 24/7 is now possible with our filament free, low power draw system. Replacement bulbs are a thing of the past. LoPresti has taken this out of the equation by offering their BoomBeams™ with a 5000 hour/5 year warranty. Don&apost take our word for it," says LoPresti, "listen to what Philip Francis, Citation Pilot says about his LoPresti BoomBeam System."

Like any pilot who has flown any 500 Series Citation, I have often found myself on short final "second-guessing" if I skipped the checklist item "Landing Lights -> On", causing me to momentarily move my hand off the throttles and glance down to flip the switches On, only to realize that they were already On...!!

Needless to say, flying any 500 Series Citation into uncontrolled airports (the raison d&aposêtre for corporate aircraft) at night always brings tense moments as you strain to see any "dim" silhouettes or objects that might appear on the runway just in front of the aircraft as the original lights would not permit much advanced warning.

I finally had an opportunity to "test" your new HID lights that were installed on our Citation 560 Ultra, with a flight landing late in the evening.

WOW...!!!

Just to try and give you a slight representation of my "NEW" reality..... everything that is in the path of the new HID lights is now brighter and whiter than in the midday sunlight..!!

The lights are so bright and so white in contrast to the dim "yellow" original lights that, prior to crossing the threshold while still 20 to 40 feet in the air, I can see clearly the entire length of the runway confirming that it is free of any objects or animals (i.e. deer etc.).

In addition, for increased visibility and safety I now use the recognition lights and landing lights for every takeoff and landing during the day without the expense and concern of having to constantly replace one of the six lights which would frequently become unserviceable, (burnout) due to vibration encountered during flight and on the ground causing a filament to break.

My conclusion after installing your HID light kit on our Citation 560:
"All of our night operations are much safer by greatly increasing pilot visibility and awareness while decreasing pilot stress.
Reduced downtime and non-scheduled maintenance costs for repetitively replacing the original incandescent light bulbs."

Thank you for developing this great product.

Vero Beach, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/20/2009 -- LoPresti Aviation will host another in their series of "First Saturday" events in the LoPresti/Vero Beach Avionics hangar on the north ramp of the Vero Beach airport on June 6th starting at 9 am.

LoPresti First Saturday is about connecting aviation to modern America.
As a boy, Roy LoPresti hung around airports and airplanes every chance he got. However, what was possible and even common 60 years ago, is neither today. Roy bemoaned the loss of innocence and the lack of places for kids and pilots to meet. So we opened "LeRoy&aposs Cafe" as a place for pilots and the community to "Hang Out". Later we added First Saturday to formally bring the two together once a month with a full breakfast, an interesting topic and a guest speaker. Any proceeds we generate goes to a charity or a worthy cause. In this way we get to give back to the community and provide a place for pilots to gather. Best of all we get to do what Roy wanted most...to share the dream of flight.

The speaker Scott Smith, Area Sales Manager for Aspen Avionics will discuss the advantages of "Flying the Aspen Display" at the LoPresti First Saturday flyin at Vero Beach on June 6th, 2009.

Aspen Avionics specializes in bringing the most advanced technology and capability from the commercial and business aviation markets into General Aviation cockpits—and budgets. Our products increase situational awareness and reduce pilot workload, making it even easier and safer to fly in both VFR and IFR conditions. The way we look at it, getting the latest avionics technology shouldn’t always mean spending a lot of money—on equipment or installation. At Aspen Avionics, we design products to be affordable, easy to install, and easy to own.

Flying Magazine Reviews the EFD1000 PFD

“It’s clear that Aspen was setting the bar high when it set out to certify the EFD1000 and to make it fly in hundreds of airplanes. From our perspective, the company didn’t just succeed at this ambitious goal; it knocked it out of the park.”

Flying’s Robert Goyer reviewed the EFD1000 Primary Flight Display for the May, 2009 issue, and was clearly impressed with the product and its features. Check out his article on the Flying Magazine Website.
In Roy LoPresti&aposs name and in his memory the LoPresti family has created a yearly award to recognize those ideas, which truly and profoundly innovate General Aviation. The Roy LoPresti "Innovation in Aviation Award."

Each year, one great idea, one innovative design will win this award and be recognized as an innovator.

A panel of 5-7 judges review submissions and ultimately decide on the winner. These judges are drawn from Aviation engineering, business, finance and marketing.

The winning innovator receives an Award designed and constructed by the late Roy LoPresti to keep and care for one year. That winner then joins the Judges for the same term (1 year) to review the ideas of fellow innovators. Finally, LoPresti will offer the winner assistance in developing the concept and productizing their idea.

In the first expression of the LoPresti Innovation In Aviation winner DeltaHawk has been working with LoPresti to bring their product to a wider market. In this next year you will see their engine gain certification and we will work with them to create STC&aposs for the burgeoning Diesel market.

We are delighted to announce that the second winner of The Roy LoPresti Prize for Innovation in Aviation is Bede Inc. for their SpeedTrac wheelpants. LoPresti Aviation is delighted to announce that this wonderful idea has been productized and will be available this year at Oshkosh for the RV7 and RV10 aircraft.

LoPresti already scours the aviation world for new ideas. To aid in that effort we are including in our process a web site for the submission and protection of those ideas.

LoPresti First Saturday to Benefit Boy Scouts of America Features Wilco Film's - A Pilot's Story

March 7th in Vero Beach, FL

Vero Beach, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/10/2009 -- LoPresti Aviation will host another in their series of "First Saturday" events in the LoPresti hangar on the north ramp of the Vero Beach airport on March 7th starting at 9 am.

LoPresti First Saturday is about connecting aviation to modern America.

The founder of the company, Roy LoPresti, had a life long love of aviation. As a boy of 5 he announced to his parents, he was going to "design airplanes". A bold statement from the son of poor first generation immigrants. But sure enough, he entered NYU at 16 and graduated at 19 with a degree in aviation engineering.

As a boy, Roy hung around airports and airplanes every chance he got.

The Speaker. The March "First Saturday" event will feature Wilco films. "When I saw the trailer for A Pilot&aposs Story I immediately thought that these guys would be great as First Saturday speakers. The tone of this film matches our First Saturday events, connecting aviation and airports to our local community. The imagery of the film was great and after meeting Will Hawkins and Rico Sharqawi on I just knew that these guys could tell a great story." said David LoPresti.

"When David LoPresti called to ask if we would consider being part of the LoPresti First Saturday event I was really pleased. We just love to share the love of flying and to promote our new film." Said Will Hawkins.

The Charity
The speakers will be proceeded by a full breakfast benefit for the Boy Scouts of America, Indian River District. The scouts will also serve and will have displays of Scouting Skills.

The Indian River District of the Boy Scouts of America is made up of more than 200 volunteers who operate 30 Scouting Units that provide programs for almost 1,000 youth. These units are Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops, coed Venture Crews and two Sea Scout Ships. The ages of the youth range from 7 years old to 18 years old for Cubs and Scouts and to 21 years old for Venture and Sea Scouts.

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to help build Character, Citizenship, and Physical and Mental Fitness in young people. All programs are age appropriate.

The Indian River District of the Boy Scouts of America is a part of the Gulf Stream Council that conducts all Scouting activities from Boca Raton to Sebastian and out around Lake Okeechobee and includes Okeechobee, Clewiston and Belle Glade. The Indian River District covers all of Indian River County.

"This will be a great opportunity for the community to see Boy Scouting skills and have a fantastic breakfast at a great price. A Scout is thrifty." said Brenda Carley, District Executive. "This is a great example of how a local business can support Scouting or any charity while introducing youth to the wider community."

LoPresti Exhibits New Innovations at AOPA Expo 2008

LoPresti Improves Cirrus By 300%

San Jose, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/07/2008 -- LoPresti makes a wide range of VERY cool products. Products that (among other things) increase speed, save fuel and light up the sky. But what do you do for an encore when you already make the number one product in your field? When every new Cirrus since 2004 has been sold with the best landing light in aviation. The LoPresti BoomBeam™.

When your product has become the very definition of setting the bar really, really high?

You raise the bar.

The new X2 BoomBeam™ from LoPresti produces 300% more light on the same electrical load and is half the weight. No Kidding... This is worth repeating...

• THREE times the light
• HALF the weight
• No increase in electrical requirements

“Back in 1997 when my brother David first proposed that we design and market this technology I thought ‘who the heck would buy a high tech light? &apos The old ones are cheap and easy to change. But my father and brother pushed to develop this technology. I was flat wrong. Everyone needs a better safer more cost effective light. And now we are the market leader in this technology," said Curt LoPresti, President LoPresti Aviation.

For more than 7 years Cirrus Design has made LoPresti the standard premier light for their aircraft, adding to its safety record. The latest innovation, BoomBeam X2, adds significantly to the range and safety zone of this already industry leading light. Now with the X2 System you can see obstacles at a much longer range allowing you to avoid hazards and increase your comfort level in poorly lit environments.

SO, Is that enough improvement? Heck no. The X2 system is tunable. Every pilot and aircraft is different and now you can tune your X2 light to your Cirrus’s specific desires. The X2 System allows for ground “tuning” of your landing light. A wide beam is best for most Cirrus’ and has longer range then the stock “Legacy BoomBeam”. A tighter beam with substantially longer range is available for aircraft with LoPresti TriTips or Cirrus tip lights with a simple adjustment.

What do LoPresti BoomBeam X2 owners say about this new light?

“I HIGHLY recommend the X2 Boom Beam and I am happy to do business with LoPresti in the future. Two thumbs up on Customer Service!” - Todd Gardner

“Well I finally had a chance to use my recently installed LoPresti X2 Boom Beam landing light and I&aposm happy to report that it&aposs GREAT! …. This light is a marked improvement over the landing light our plane comes with from the factory. … This new landing light does a much better job of lighting up the runway which gives me better depth perception and I can see the runway. I turn the runway lights down low (if not off) when I&aposm on short final. The new LoPresti light shined brightly and also allows you to see any wildlife further down the runway; a problem here in Wisconsin. Now it&aposs not like the dual headlights on your car, but again it&aposs a substantial improvement.” - Brian P. Johnson

“I too purchased an X2 Boom Beam from LoPresti. The installation instructions were straightforward (including pictures) and it took me about 20 minutes from beginning to end to make the swap. Anyone who owns a screwdriver should to remove the old light and install the new one. I had the opportunity to try it out one night last week and what a difference! I could easily see at least twice as far down the runway. In addition, the peripheral areas seemed to me to be lit just as well as with the old bulb.” - Jim Warren

LoPresti BoomBeam X2 light is on display at our booth 1137 at AOPA Expo and is available through the LoPresti Partner Network.

LoPrestiFury Update

San Jose, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/07/2008 -- In an open letter to fans of the LoPresti Fury aircraft, LoPresti Aviation initiated a buyer protection plan unparalleled in Aviation. No deposit, no penalty and you make money, guaranteed.

Rj Siegel, Chief Operating Officer of LoPresti, released the details of a limited offer to Fury customers Tuesday, November 4th. "This is actually an homage to our founder, Roy LoPresti," said Siegel. "It&aposs the way he would do it and we&aposre honoring that".

"The ordinary GA process is to take deposits from customers and use their money for operating capital". "The customers are at risk and even if they do eventually get the aircraft they ordered, in the interim they lose the use of their cash as well as any income it could generate."

"We decided to completely protect our customers by having them secure a Fury position with a Certificate of Deposit "IN THEIR NAME ONLY". Only the customer has access the cash and it earns interest while they wait.""There is no penalty for canceling an order and of course the customer has immediate access to their CD should their personal needs change," Siegel explained. "It&aposs a tough economy and it&aposs the right thing to do. We believe in our product, so it really wasn&apost that hard a decision".

The body of the letter to Fury customers follows:

FURY STATUS
Thank you for the inquiry. We love to be appreciated!

2008 has been a "Fury-ous" whirlwind year for LoPresti. We&aposve completed quite a list of new features for the Fury. From an even lower, low drag cowl, to our iPod "Intuition" avionics bay, we never stop innovating and improving. The October 08 Plane & Pilot reviews the latest Fury as the finest of the breed. Part fighter, part cross country cruiser, the Fury has frequently been called "a Ferrari with wings". We humbly and appreciatively, accept the compliment!

As we move towards production we will try to keep all our fans informed. Please realize however, our primary expertise is building airplanes. You probably know us as innovators and high tech engineers but in a lot of ways we&aposre really quite old school. Sure, we use the Internet, cell phones and TiVo, but we prefer an old fashioned letter or better yet a visit. So, please bear with us as we try to find the time to send out regular updates.

OK, now suppose you want one.

For those or you who find themselves compelled to place the Fury on their "must have" list, this is your process...

First, the timeline.

1. We have just broken ground on our Sebastian facility. We are told we will have occupancy in April.
2. The first three test aircraft will be assembled in this facility (18-24 months)
3. Production begins immediately thereafter. The first year production (60 Aircraft) is already sold out.
4. We will begin taking positions on the second 60, this January 12, 2009.

Next, the process.

1. There is no prepayment. Zero.
2. To secure your position we require a $35K Certificate of Deposit (CD), but in your name only.
3. We have no access to your CD. Only you can cash it.
4. When your Fury is actually scheduled for manufacture you will be contacted with a production timetable.
5. We expect the timetable to be 90-180 days.
5. Only then will your CD be converted into cash.
6. Alternatively, you may elect to cancel your position without penalty. (or any time prior).
7. The balance is due only when your personal aircraft has a skinned empennage.

Panel Configuration

1. As listed in Plane and Pilot
2. There will be some flexibility, determined by advance notice and availability.

Delivery

1. One week process. Top Gun Combat training program
http://www.loprestifury.com/new-topgun.htm

We are currently in the midst of producing an info pack we hope to have complete for this Christmas.

It will be available for about $49 and include a DVD with some gorgeous flying sequences.

If the Fury is for you, welcome to the LoPresti Fury family. If you are merely a fan, please know you will be welcome at the Fury &aposTop Gun" training.

If you wish to be called on Jan 12th, please let us know.

I hope this answers your questions but if you have more, feel free to contact me at your convenience.
Cheers!

"Corkey" is an Alumni of University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Corkey flew with his father, J.W. "Bill" Fornof, in a world famous two ship air show with matching bronze Bearcats. Their air show business was based in Houma flying the T6, Mustang and his favorite war bird the Bearcat.

At the Sermtoma Air Festival "Corkey" Fornof will be flying the LoPrestiFury on November 1st and 2nd.

"Corkey&aposs" list of feature movie stunts includes Harrison Ford&aposs 6 Days/7 Night&aposs, John Travolta&aposs Face Off, Tom Cruise&aposs Mission Impossible II, Steven Spielberg&aposs Jurassic Park and Robert Redford and Demi Moore&aposs Indecent Proposal. "Corkey" is a member of the Screen Actors Guild, the Motion Picture Pilots Association, and holds a current Motion Picture/Television Flight Operations Manual for the FAA. He&aposs been spotted in over 100 commercials and MTV.

It&aposs precision and perfection allows smooth rolls and figure 8s. One can glide cross-country in this leather-seated beauty listening to tunes of your choice through the Bluetooth Headset and Intuitiontm Ipod system.

Make a Big Splash in Baghdad and Save Your Cash While Protecting Your Plane for Winter

Vero Beach, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/15/2008 -- So when was the last time you were in 120 weather? Unless you live in death valley you are not likely to see that kind of temperature. If you were stationed in Baghdad you would see it most every day. PLUS you are wearing Kevlar, PLUS carrying 50-80 pounds of gear.

How many times have you watched the news and thought, "I wish I could do more useful than just wearing a yellow ribbon."

NOW IS YOUR CHANCE TO SHOW YOU CARE DIRECTLY

If you have been reading the LoPresti newsletter you may remember back in March when I told you that my girl Rebecca was going to Iraq. She is a Paramedic and is stationed in the "Green Zone". I hear from her all the time. (but not enough - Becca call more!). She was telling me that the medical staff has been working on getting one of the pools operational and safe for use by the staff. They did get it working BUT they cannot get funding for chemicals. They had to close the pool just days after opening it. She emailed me and asked if I could send her some chloride to help keep the pool open.

I asked how big the pool was and she told me about 120,000 gallons. That is much more pool than one bag of chlorine would do. For some reason this made me think of my last commercial trip to Wichita. On this trip, at each airport, there were uniformed troops traveling and many times other travelers or gate agents stopped these troops and said, "thank you for your service." That was nice to see. I also remembered that we had discussed at a LoPresti staff meeting what we could do for the troops this year for Veterans day.

1. Pool not working.
2. Thank you troops.
3. Veterans Day!

If you are like us and want to do something directly for our guys and girls in Baghdad now is your chance. We are taking donations to fund the pool operations. We are working with Bill at Commercial Pool to get supplies shipped there and we need your donations. Shipping will be a MAJOR cost for this project and cost more than the materials.

I have 2 options for you to be part of this project.

1. Donate here via Paypal at http://www.speedmods.com/newsletter/newsletter.htm
2. Call 800-859-4757 and buy SpeedCoat or KnotWax and say, "Lets make a splash!" You save CASH with a special price and we match that savings with a donation to the cause. For every order of SpeedCoat we will donate $5 to the pool project and discount your order by $5. It’s like being paid to donate!
