Rapid Recovery Assists Raley’s Supermarkets With Refrigerant Retrofits

Rapid Recovery, a refrigerant recovery company servicing the continental United States, has been providing refrigerant recovery to Raley’s Supermarkets for their ongoing refrigerant retrofits over the past two years.

Glendale, AZ -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/08/2008 -- Rapid Recovery, a refrigerant recovery company servicing the continental United States, has been providing refrigerant recovery to Raley’s Supermarkets for their ongoing refrigerant retrofits over the past two years.

Since the late spring of 2005, Raley’s has trusted Rapid Recovery to perform the refrigerant recovery on their retrofit projects. The approximately two dozen stores involved so far have been located throughout the Bay Area, California Central Valley, Sacramento and Nevada. In all cases, Rapid Recovery’s ability to remove the refrigerant properly and quickly has enabled Raley’s to complete the retrofit process hours faster than more traditional recovery methods or services.

Typically these projects take place at night while the stores are closed to minimize disruption in regular business operations; all of the refrigeration systems are retrofitted that same night. Occasionally, the work is spread over two separate nights with essentially half of the refrigeration systems being retrofitted with alternative refrigerant each night. Raley’s, in retrofitting to more environmentally friendly refrigerants, shows corporate stewardship. In utilizing Rapid Recovery’s services, Raley’s is receiving all of the necessary EPA documentation regarding the refrigerant being recovered, saving time, and ensuring that the refrigerant recovery portion of the work is being done at the highest standard. “It is wonderful to work along side Raley’s throughout this retrofit process,” said Matt Jahn of Rapid Recovery. “We look forward to providing them with the utmost in refrigerant recovery services on all of their upcoming projects.”

Rapid Recovery Provides Refrigerant Abatement at Former Fannie May Chocolate Factory

Pre-Demolition refrigerant abatement completed by Rapid Recovery at former Fannie May Chocolate Factory in Chicago.

Glendale, AZ -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/07/2008 -- Rapid Recovery, a refrigerant recovery company servicing the continental United States, recently completed the second phase of a refrigerant recovery project at the former Fannie May Chocolate Factory. The West Loop Promenade will soon appear in the space formerly occupied by the Fannie May Chocolate Factory, warehouse and retail store in Chicago.

Rapid Recovery was originally called upon by Allied Mechanical in June of 2004 to remove the refrigerant from the process cooling systems prior to liquidation of the equipment. The time had now come to raze the buildings to make way for the new West Loop Promenade development.

Dave Geertz with Robinette Demolition contracted Rapid Recovery to recover the refrigerant from the remaining comfort air conditioners located throughout the buildings and rooftops. The three buildings utilized more than thirty medium sized comfort air conditioners. Paul Rhynard with Rapid Recovery said "The job went smooth, although it required a total of nine separate set ups in order for us to access all of the air conditioning units. Each job comes with its own challenges and we come with the knowledge, equipment and ability to conquer them."

In addition to providing the refrigerant abatement, Rapid Recovery also attached a numbered ID label to each recovered air conditioning unit that will be tracked along with the work order. Rapid Recovery provided the necessary EPA documentation that is required when recovering refrigerants.

Rapid Recovery Provides Service to Quality Refrigeration at 3 IBC Locations

Refrigerant abatement from comfort air conditioning & process cooling units takes place at three IBC plants in Southern California.

Glendale, AZ -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/21/2007 -- Rapid Recovery, a refrigerant recovery company servicing the continental United States, recently completed a refrigerant recovery project at 3 Interstate Bakery Corporation Facilities for Quality Refrigeration of Wilmington, CA.

Jason Weber of Quality Refrigeration phoned Rapid Recovery to request refrigerant abatement at 3 IBC locations. The locations where being shut down and needed to have the refrigerant liability removed prior to vacating the properties. Quality Refrigeration has utilized Rapid Recovery many times, including on the USS Mercy (Naval Medical Ship), prior to this project and once again called on the experienced refrigerant abatement team.

With 3 separate locations to be recovered Rapid Recovery arrived at the IBC location in Los Angeles, CA on October 29 and completed the refrigerant abatement from 3 refrigeration racks as well as 6 other units approximately 30 tons in cooling capacity. The other 2 IBC plant locations to be recovered were located in Glendale, CA & Pomona, CA and were completed on Oct. 30 & Nov. 1, 2007 respectively. Between those locations an additional 9 refrigeration racks and 22 additional refrigerated appliances ranging from under 10 to 30 tons in cooling capacity were recovered, tagged & properly documented. Each of the IBC locations utilized at least 2 refrigerant types and well over 3000 lbs. of refrigerant was recovered. Rapid Recovery kept the refrigerant types separated by identifying the refrigerant types on the unit placards, properly pumping down their recovery equipment and placing the different refrigerants in the appropriate recovery cylinders. Terri LaMere of Rapid Recovery said; “I’m proud of our team & the professionalism, experience and customer service that they bring to each job. It is because of them that contractors like Quality Refrigeration continue to recognize the value added service we provide.”
